Honouring Courage – Hypospadias Hero Day #HypospadiasHeroes
Hypospadias Hero Day, held on April 28th, is an awareness day aimed at educating the public about hypospadias, a common congenital condition in boys where the urethral opening is not at the tip of the penis. The campaign encourages families to share stories, wear masks/capes to break the stigma, and reduce isolation felt by families navigating this treatable condition.
Department of Ped1atric Surgery and Paediatric Urology observed the Hypospadias Hero Day this year on 26th April 2026.
It was not just awareness but also celebration of their courage. The highlight was parents coming together to share their journeys — the stress and anxiety they faced, and the relief after successful treatment.
The message was, that with the right care, hypospadias is a completely treatable condition, and children can lead normal, healthy lives.
A heartfelt salute to our “Hypospadias Heroes” for their courage and trust.
