Visual check system by any one of three criteria:
- Bladder width at least 40–50% of the arm circumference
- Bladder length at least 80–100% of the arm circumference
- Cuff width 66-75% of the acromion-olecranon distance (UAL)
Correct cuff size according to arm circumference

| Infant | >10-15 | 6 x12 |
| Child | 15-22 | 9 x 18 |
| Small adult | 22-26 | 12 x 22 |
| Adult (standard) | 27-34 | 16 x 24 |
| Large adult | 35-44 | 16 x 36 |
| Adult (thigh) | 45-52 | 16 x 42 |
