Vitiligo

Vitiligous patches are manifested before  the age of 10yrs in approx. 25% of cases and by age 20 years approximayely 50% would manifest. The order of distribution of a vitiligous patch is Face > lower limbs > Trunk > Upper limbs. It can be divided into Generalized/ Segmental/ Dermatomal.

The diagnosis can be made by use of Woods light which shows accentuation. 

Common associations seen are –  Thyroid Disease, Addison’s disease, Diabetes mellitus, Alopecia areata and Pernicious anemia.
