Ecythyma

Ecthyma is an ulcerative form of impetigo where untreated lesions of nonbullous impetigo progress to a deeper infection. Lesions consist of “punched-out” ulcers covered with yellow crust surrounded by raised violaceous margins. A subsequent scarring can also occur in which the lesions extend through the epidermis and deep into the dermis
